Privacy Policy
Dao De Jing is a classic reading and listening app. The app provides chapter text, pinyin, translation, annotation, analysis, display settings, and offline Chinese and English translation audio playback.
We design the app to work without an account and without collecting personal information from users.
Data We Do Not Collect
The app does not require account registration and does not collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Precise location
- Contacts
- Photos
- Camera or microphone data
- Payment information
- Health or fitness data
- User-generated public content
Data Stored On Your Device
The app may store the following information locally on your device to provide core features:
- Reading display preferences, such as font size, line spacing, theme, and pinyin display setting
- Playback preferences, default audio language, and last played chapter
This data is stored using iOS local storage such as UserDefaults. It is used only to remember your preferences and app state on the same device.
Network Use
The current app experience is designed around bundled reading and audio content. It does not require signing in or uploading reading activity to a server.
If a future version adds online services, this policy must be updated before release to explain what data is collected, why it is collected, and how it is used.
Tracking
The app does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
The app does not use collected data for third-party advertising or data broker purposes.
Third-Party Services
The current release does not intentionally integrate analytics, advertising, crash reporting, social login, or payment SDKs.
If third-party services are added in the future, this policy and the App Store privacy label must be updated before release.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
You can remove locally stored app preferences and playback state by deleting the app from your device.
